The goal of Camp Journey is to decrease the stress and burden experienced by caregivers by providing a break from dealing with the complicated issues of children and adolescence with a mental illness.
The recreational based program provides a safe and supportive atmosphere for youth who are faced with emotional and behavioral disabilities to have fun and learn new skills that are valuable in their families.
- Camp Journey provides both overnight and hourly services.
- Facilitators act as mentors, providing positive role models for the children as they participate in the activities.
- Facilitators also supervise youth who need to self-administer medication while participating in the program.
- Youth aged 11 – 17 with emotional and behavioral disabilities are qualified for this Program.
