Way Station's Residential Crisis Program offers a voluntary alternative to hospitalization for persons with serious mental illness, who are in crisis, having difficulty managing the symptoms of their illness, and experiencing a serious disruption in function.

The program offers a safe, low-stress, and highly structured home-like environment that is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Residential crisis services and supports are designed to prevent hospitalization, shorten the length of hospitalization, and stabilize psychiatric symptoms.

Unlike hospitalization, the program allows participants to continue their daily routines and treatment with their personal psychiatrist and therapist.

The program is not intended to address the issue of homelessness alone. However, homelessness does not preclude a person from being admitted into the program.
